Having a yodel of a time..

When I'm doing computer work, I usually turn on the radio and lately it's been tuned to a classical station. Well, I call it the "classical" station because it plays mostly classical, but they also have other programs, including world music, jass, blues, and, as I discovered today, yodeling. I would have tuned into a different station but I tend to be a station hopper when listening to contemporary music and didn't want to be constantly changing the station. So, I left it...and preceded to be entertained with an in-depth analysis of yodeling around the world. Is it sad that I actually recognized some of the songs? There was one from The Sound of Music that I was croaking along with, causing my faithful pooches to look at me quizzically, heads turning from side to side. A few others I recognized from the Deep Forest albums and one classic country song that sounded familiar. I had turned up the volume while singing along so it's a good thing it's not summer. The neighbors would really think I was peculiar if they heard yodeling coming through the windows....

I love NPR and can spend hours listening to that station. (I don't know if that is what you were listening too.) I like it when they do their documentaries on various subjects from yodeling to working at Wal-Mart.

P.S. Out of curiousity, why did you switch to comment moderation and word verification? Yours is the only blog I read with it and I haven't seen you approve a comment yet so that it shows up in your comments section. I didn't know if you were getting harrassed or something.
