I love this bridge. My mother had mentioned in an email last week that the county is planning to replace it with something newer. I think that's a shame, because this bridge, to me, is part of what makes my home county a historic district. Anyhoo, a few years ago I happened to be by the river on a morning similar to this one, with a layer of fog making everything look mysterious. I wished dearly at that time to have a camera but didn't even think I would need one. This time I was prepared because I always carry my digital camera with me in my purse. (There have been too many times I have wanted to take pictures but had left my camera at home.) It came in handy this weekend because after we had breakfast at 7:30, I excused myself from the conversation my parents were having with acquaintances to rush over for a photo opportunity before the sun could burn all of the fog off. I got there just in time to take some amazing photos, like the one above.
