1950 GM bus sells for $4 million - Jan. 23, 2006

We watched this happen. It was a breathtaking moment as the bidding price kept climbing...and climbing...and climbing. I thought it went for $4.1 million, but what's another $100K in the scheme of things? By the way, this was the annual Barrett-Jackson collectible car auction. It typically lasts three days, I believe. It might have been the highest priced vehicle to be sold during the event, but don't quote me on that.

The other thing that was incredible was a limousine owned by Elvis Presley. If it hadn't had that celebrity status attached to it, it would only have been worth $30K. But with the Elvis name attached, it sold for over $500K.

Amazing what some people pay for their big toys....
