Attack of the evil HR
I'm sure I've mentioned before how I don't see eye-to-eye with our HR unit. Well, once again, I've had a run-in with the evil beings and have to adjust my workload accordingly. I spent my lunch hour trying to loosen up and let go of the tension, while my stomach rolled and I started to get that acid/burning sensation. My muscles were all tense and I started to breathe real shallow and fast. *sigh* I'm going to end up with an ulcer because of this place. So yeah, lunch was not ideal today. After I realized how I was letting it affect me, I told myself I needed to focus on some positive things to counter my negative feelings. So....the fact that I was even getting out for lunch was a good sign, I wore my favorite pink sweatshirt with my new pink scarf and gloves (SO soft - I love them), I let a delivery truck pull out into traffic after being stuck for awhile so he gave me a friendly thank-you wave (which cheered me up immenseley), and because I didn't have a lunchtime destination in mind I discovered myself just happening to wander over to the Big Mike's area....and got a DEEELICIOUS sub. Bonus prize! I got a free drink with my purchase. By the time I was heading back to work, I had calmed down enough to think of how to accommodate the changes that are coming up.
I think I have a Pavlov reaction thing going when HR gets involved in my job duties. They've screwed me over so many times that now I just react to their "changes" when I should take a break and think for a minute. Hmmmm.... It's okay though. It just means that I get to train our student workers on a new software so they can take over one of my projects. At least they can put it on their resume!
