My ATM had a British Accent
I went downtown for lunch today. I was on a mission and probably looked like it as I was walking pretty quickly. What was my mission? I'm not gonna tell you. It's a surprise, but as I started down the sidewalk it suddenly occurred to me that I needed to get some cash from the ATM. So, I did an abrupt turn and headed toward one that I know I won't be charged surplus fees for using. There was one other person in the lobby with me and he probably thought I was quite nutty because of my reaction to the ATM. I swiped my card, raised my hand to enter my pin#, and stopped as a woman's voice said "Please enter your security code." I started cracking up. The ATM was talking to me in a British accent. So, I entered my code, selected my options and heard "Please wait while your transaction is processing." What a hoot! I was mimicking the voice all the way to my lunch destination. I was in a hurry because of the mission so didn't linger long. Unfortunately, my rushing was for nothing...the shop I visited was out of the supplies that I needed so I'll have to delay that one until next week. (Becky, you know what I'm talking about.) That's okay though, I checked out the other merchandise before coming back to work. Driving today wasn't a total waste, however, because I learned my glasses arrived and I'll pick them up tonight. I've had to send them back twice for improper cutting of the lenses...what a pain in the #@$!
