Nurturing comfort....
My fabulous friend Becky once told me that when she has a rough day, sometimes she just wishes she could "go home" (her parents' house), lay her head on her mother's knee, and have her mother caress her hair while telling her that "everything will be alright". I admit that I know exactly what she means. Everything is a little overwhelming right now. I found myself nearly wishing, last night, that my vacation would end sooner than next Saturday. I'm not one to let things get me down very often, but for some reason I was struggling last night and this morning. I'm going to blame it on the wine from last night. If it wasn't already too late to call my mother tonight, I wouldn't be online right now. There's just something soothing about hearing your mother's voice when you're sick or when things are rough that gives you a sense of equilibrium and makes it possible to face the rest of the day.
Mom, I'm calling you tomorrow, on Monday, just so you prepared. :) I love you!
