It's a Girl!

Congratulations to Anna! After 46 hours of labor, she finally delivered a baby girl via C-section (it took the Drs. long enough *grumble grumble*). A 9 lb 13 oz and 21 1/2 inch Kayla Ruthie Elizabeth Reinier said hello to the world at 8:15 last night. What a big girl for such a petite mother! Anna, I don't know how you did it!

On a negative note: Don't EVER go to the Van Buren County hospital for anything. They didn't call the doctor in because "he was eating dinner with his family and would come in after 1-2 hours" -- this was at 44 hours of labor. All I can say is that if that baby ends up with brain damage because of their apparent lack of concern for the welfare of mother or child, that family had better sue.

I had a similar experience with "the Dr. will be in after he finishes his golf game", but I'll save you the whole story. I think county facilities are a huge mistake, especially those with the kind of staff employed at our county hospital.

Yes, yes, yes. Remember the doctor who got in trouble for coming into the emergency room drunk? Or the same doctor who later got sent to rehab for writing himself drug prescriptions? Of the same doctor who is now back practicing medicine in Van Buren even though he still isn't allowed to write prescriptions? We sure know how to pick them!
