The War of the Chinese Beetles
My mother has a thing about those little chinese beetles - the ones that mimic lady bugs but are a different color? The ones that bite and really hurt? Yeah, those pesky things. I called her earlier this afternoon just to babble and throughout our conversation I would have to pause as she used a dust buster to suck up the beetles. (I couldn't speak over the noise from the dust buster.) It's actually quite comical. I could hear her counting them as they went to "their doom". "1...2, 3, 4....5, 6, 7, 8, 9.....Well, there's three more..." You can see what I mean. I don't have as many as she does. Of course, that will change as we go further into spring (yes, today is the first day of spring!), but for the most part I ignore them. Either the cat or the dog will eat them anyway so why waste the energy killing them? I have to efficient beetle-killing machines here. ;)
