I Used to Agree...
One of my vanriding cohorts is very republican. Her son, a gifted young teen, writes poetry and this is one he wrote for an anti-Bush contest. I like this kid. His mother's reaction cracked me up! Anyhow, I just had to share with the world... Don't worry, E, I used to agree with my parents as well. ;)
I used to agree,
with my mommy,
because i was only 8,
my second grade teacher Miss Bliss,
made a play vote,
I decided to go with Bush,
cause my mommy told me to,
now Im older,
as you see,
I'm in 7th grade and I understand politics better,
I think Bush is doing it all wrong,
I cant wait to have Bush out of office.
Oh God is that treason,Crap I hope i dont go to jail

My parents are both moderate Democrats and my brother is a very conservative Republican. I am somewhere in the middle. We never really talked politics growing up but now we have some very interesting discussions.
I guess it just proves that there are outside forces that influence political beliefs that are stronger than your parents.
