In search of the perfect purse...
I admit it - I have a closet full of purses. It's not that I wan to have multiple purses...it's just that I haven't found the "perfect" purse that will keep everything organized to my satisfaction. While in college, I relied on a pocket wallet and my backpack to be my "purse" and it was difficult to let go of that method once I entered the workforce. A pocket wallet works perfectly well when wearing jeans everyday, but a lot of business casual pants do not have pockets, or, if they do, they are too small for a wallet. My purses have become increasingly larger and I finally realized that it was because I was attempting to utilize it as a substitute backpack. Why? I hate being bored, so I nearly always have my planner and/or a book with me in case I find myself twiddling my thumbs. But this requires additional space in my purse so a larger one is needed....until I find, like yesterday, the strap was digging most uncomfortably into my shoulder and I finally had to unload my planner. Will there never be a perfect purse? LOL I once tried to switch to an electronic planner but I found I was stashing slips of paper under the flaps and I realized I just do better with an old-fashioned paper & pencil. *sigh*
Anyhow, I'm going to try a new purse, yet again...and if this doesn't work, I may have to just design my own!

My mom has had a backpack for a purse ever since I have known her which is pretty much since... well birth. Once you go backpack you'll never go back!
true. I still carry a backpack and even bought a new one this past year. I use for hauling projects to work for working on during lunch. It's just easier to consolidate several small bags into one backpack and carry that to work!
one purse cannot be expected to be perfect for all events... there is the excuse for getting to buy many of them... we "NEED" them! *wink*
I've tried the messenger bag and it's the same thing...too much weight on one shoulder and usually digging into my neck. :) I used to carry my backpack on only one shoulder and, as a result, ended up with one shoulder being an inch lower than the other one. (I discovered this during a fitting for a bridesmaid dress.) After several years of being a little more careful, it's leveled out again. My neck vertabrae alignment is no longer straight either because of the body's effort to compensate (to keep head level), which is why I get such bad headaches. Ahhh, the sacrifices we make for fashion....it was "uncool" to carry your backpack the way it was intended.
