The Casualties of War
There are those that moan and cry the loss of our military men...those that grieve for the loss of innocent lives...those that lose their lives to friendly fire and "acceptable loss"...but it's interesting to see that there are also those who recognize that the casualties of war extend beyond the battlefield to include the health care impact on families, the public, veterans and etc.
I realize this is a mysterious post. I received a notice this morning about a conference being held to discuss the impact war has on health care before, during and after conflict. In the brochure, there is a quote by former President and General Dwight Eisenhower. I think it's very thought provoking and am including it here for everyone's enjoyment, "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of laborers, the genius of scientists, the hopes of its children."
