A nice surprise...
You know, at first I scoffed at the idea of NetFlix, but now that I'm nearly a year into my subscription I have to say that it's genius. LOL. I can't tell you how many times I've rented a video at a store only to discover that the DVD is so scratched my machine will not play it, or it skips like crazy. It's why I rarely rented videos and just purchased the discounted ones to watch...over and over... However, all but one of the DVDs I've gotten from NetFlix have played perfectly and that one DVD I stuck a note on when I sent it back. I could have requested a replacement but after seeing a portion of the video, I was no longer interested in watching the full film. (It was an old musical that could have had better acting.) I've even been watching past seasons of television series going back six years! It's fabulous. :)
Tonight I watched Antwone Fisher. It's a movie I didn't know much about but since I admire Denzel Washington's movies, I had always intended to watch it. So, I stuck it on my NetFlix list and it finally came up for delivery. What a fabulous movie! It's powerful without being overwhelming and really makes you feel the connection between the character and his struggle to find himself as he wades through the baggage of his past. Wow. To me, it's right up there with Crash for personal impact.
