matchmaker matchmaker give me a match....

Do you ever take those personality tests on matchmaking sites? I do. I'm always curious what someone else will say about my personality. That's also why I tend to get sucked into those horoscope books and your sign's yearly outlook.

Anyhoo, because I was feeling restless tonight, I decided to hop online and do some web surfing, maybe chat with a few friends on instant messenging, etc. You know how it goes. But then I got sidetracked by a banner ad for perfectmatch.com. LOL "Free personality profile" Oh yeah, I was a goner. So, even though it meant creating a membership with no intention of following through (as if I'm really going to pay the costs of the "premium services"), I filled out the personality test and etc and FINALLY got the interesting part. The results!

According Dr. Pepper, founder of the dating site, I am a flexible, comprimising, and temperate introvert who is averse to risk, has high energy, is optimistic and seeks predictability. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 7 in matching my personality. Not bad, but a little off the mark. The averse to risk thing is a little extreme because I do take risks, just not that many, and the seeks predictability thing? Uh-uh. Nope. I don't like a constant routine - it bores me silly. A little variety and shaking up has to occur or I lose interest. Now, what surprised me most was the high energy trait. I wouldn't have called myself high energy but the way it was described is right on the mark. The comparison was this: if you traveled to an exotic beach location, you wouldn't be anywhere near the water working on your tan, you'd be visiting every museum in town and exploring tourist attractions. That's a bulls-eye right there. I've never understood how anyone can spend the day at the beach doing nothing but working on their tan. BORING! I last about 5 minutes and then I'm playing with the radio, reading a book, making sand castles, etc etc.

Overall, it was pretty interesting!

Two things, I think by predictability, they meant you seek predictability in your mate. Second, I'm with you. To heck with the beaches, the culture is what I would like to see.

They were comparing the predictability thing to a job that has more routine work rather than variety. I would be able to take it. I'd go nuts!
