That little devil...

Okay, so today I'm feeling confrontational. I'm sure some of it is left over from yesterday's extreme anger episode which didn't go away and I ended up going to bed angry, then waking this morning STILL angry. Even painting didn't help, because it wasn't going well and added to the anger. I definitely have a little devil sitting on my shoulder today and it's really wanting some fresh blood. I kept snapping at the cat (sorry Maia - I was a bad mood Mommy last night) when she was following me around meowing. I was getting testy with the U.O. this morning and I'm fairly certain she could tell I was holding back. First off, she walked in late which is hardly surprising. I've been here early for several months now and I go grab food or snacks BEFORE the day starts, unlike the U.O. So, given this little background info, she comes in late. Puts her stuff down at her desk, then says, "Sonya, can you do me a really huge favor?" I'm thinking she has a meeting in a conference room and needs assistance carrying coffee & etc in. OH NO NO NO..... "I really need a caffeinated beverage. Would you go get me a soda?" You have got to be kidding! Do I look like a servant??? So, I said "You can't go down [to the cafeteria]?" She replies, "No, I have to get these exhibits done by 9:00." Um, it's only 8:05....if she's that desperate for a soda, she can go get it herself. There's a vending machine around the corner for pete's sake. But no, she doesn't want a can of soda...she wants a bottle of soda. I'm struggling with myself, wanting to tell her no...she can tell I didn't want to go. BUT, I thought...this is my good deed for the day. No one else gets a good deed...so you're are forewarned. Don't ask for favors. ;) So I go and she gives me $2 and says "get something for yourself if you want anything". Nice offer, but I don't need anything. I had already been to the cafeteria on my way into the office. I had my oatmeal and milk, thank you very much.

A few of my other coworkers (since I shared the story with them) laughed hysterically and now when I walk by they say "Sonya, will you go get me a cookie?" "Sonya, will you get me a latte?" "Sonya, will you...." LOL

I think my response would have been to laugh like it was a joke and then go back to what I was doing.
