Weekend Warrior? Or Weekend Sluff?

I tend to be a weekend warrior with my home projects. It usually makes Monday a welcome respite from hard labor. LOL This weekend was no different with regards to my intentions. However, reality was something different. Friday night I completed a portion of one of my big projects -- the study. I worked late into the night before finally heading to bed. Of course, because I stripped my bed of the sheets in order to wash them, I had to put on the new sheets. This is difficult because my bed is up against one wall, and being a pseudo four poster (short posts), it can't be moved too easily. So, I pulled at the headboard, and it moved away from the wall a few inches. Then I pulled at the footboard and suddenly the side piece came off, the support bars all fell on the floor and my box springs and mattress soon followed the support bars. I stood there staring for a full minute before bursting into laughter. Finally I calmed down enough to go get some larger screws, disassembled the bed, fixed the frame and put it all back together. I finally was able to go to sleep around 2:30 am.

Saturday morning I slept in til 10:00, then putzed around the house until 2:00 pm before actually starting anything. Of course, the first thing I wanted to do was put plastic around the 2nd story windows. This required climbing onto the roof. What I hadn't noticed during those four hours of putzing, was that the wind had picked up considerably. Let me just say that trying to attach plastic to outside windows, on a roof, with a strong wind that changes directions with each gust, is NOT easy. After being wrapped in plastic more times than I can count, I finally called it quits, called my three completed windows a successful mission and vowed to get the other two done on a less windy day. By this point, I was ready for a nap. After a quick call to a fantastic friend in Phoenix, I decided to follow through on the nap idea and quickly fell asleep. Of course, my planned one-hour nap turned into several hours....and I didn't get as much cleaning done as I would have liked. I did, however, make sure to get the spare bedroom completely swept, scrubbed, and reorganized with the daybed assembled for guests. Once again, I collapsed into bed at about 1:00 am.

This morning, I woke up at 9:00 am, washed dishes (took an hour), got ready for a family x-mas event, watered plants and headed out the door. I still have clutter to clean up in the kitchen, study and living room. Will it ever end??
