Buffalo Girls Won't You Come Out Tonight....

Okay, so I got a lot of grief at Christmas time by a certain person because I'd never seen It's a Wonderful Life. I knew the basis of the story, but had just never seen it. Well....let me tell you. Because I knew we'd be getting some nasty weather, I rented a few movies last night...that's right!...including It's a Wonderful Life. I just finished watching it and I have to admit it's really good. It's not the cheesy Christmas movie I thought it would be! What a delightful surprise!

You are not alone, I haven't seen it either. I always seem to find something better to watch when it is on television for the same reasons as you, assuming it was a cheesy movie. Guess I'll have to do better next year.

Have you ever watched "A Christmas Story?" That's perhaps my favorite holiday movie and much to my disappointment, wasn't on television around here this year.

I'm beginning to think that there are regional regulations concerning the viewing of Christmas-related movies and television specials each year. In Phoenix, last year (2003), it was nothin' but "It's a Wonderful Life" - marathon after marathon after marathon. This year (2004) it was "A Christmas Story". I also noticed that many stations brought back "Jack Frost" - that clamation special lost in the Christmas vaults for so many years. Of course, there are tons and tons of other movies and specials, so I'll just list my top five favs...

1. It's a Wonderful Life
2. A Christmas Story
3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas - animated version.
4. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer - clamation version.
5. The Santa Clause - this one is fast becoming a classic.

Mikey, that's a great list!

Ed, Mom had on The Christmas Story marathon this year. I don't know what channel it was on though. It's her favorite Christmas movie and unfortunately my siblings and I have had to endure it so much over the past years, we would prefer to not have to watch it at all if there are other options! lol

Ooh yeah.....the clamation version of Rudolph is awesome too. Especially the abdominal snowman!

I'm glad it just isn't me who is having that problem. Somedays, I have a hard time getting this thing to accept me either with my username or as an anonymous poster.
