Forecasts

We've reached the point in winter where listening to the weather forecast is a silly and useless chore. We know it's cold. It's -7 right now with a wind chill of -22. They might as well just say, "Today it's going to be cold...and tomorrow? You guessed it! Cold!" It's that level of cold that when you take a breath in through your nose, you can feel everything in your body start to freeze. It's an unusual sensation. Poor Sadie. I took her out first thing this morning to do her business, which she did as fast as possible, then she sprinted back to the door, her little body shivering. There was none of the usual "Oh that scent is interesting. Let's go THIS way!" I need to get her a dog sweater. I can add layers to keep warm, but she's got a thin coat of fur on only 85% of her body. Her belly is still bare.

My belly is also bare and I have no fur. Brrrrr! This is one of those days I would have preferred to just stay home in bed. As I get older, those days seem to occur more often and have less to do with the temperature. Go figure.
