My sweet little Sadie...
I arrived home from Phoenix at 10:30 pm Saturday night. I would have been home earlier than that, but both of my return flights were delayed resulting in an arrival time one hour later than anticipated. Of course, it didn't help that in cruising down a well-known road to top off my gas tank, I couldn't help but notice one of my favorite stores still open. *muhahahahah* So, of course, I stopped for awhile. I only bought a FEW things. I even deliberately did not take a shopping basket so that my purchases were limited to what I could carry! It worked. I got tired of carrying stuff and headed to the cashier. :) Not that it would have been worse if I had a basket or cart, but I would have browsed a lot longer, resulting in an even later return home. As I finally entered town, I stopped by the grocery store for a few items. I knew I wouldn't make it there the next morning. I had to laugh though. I had forgotten that I did a little shopping before leaving on vacation so when I returned home with my bags, I discovered that I now have four boxes of cereal. I guess I'm set for at least a month!! Oh well. :) I managed to unpack my bags before collapsing into bed...my nice, cushy, pillow-top bed and my fluffy, oh-so-soft pillows....*sigh* What is it about being in your own bed that makes you feel like you've entered a luxurious spa?? lol
On Sunday, after sleeping in much later than intended, I alternatively did laundry and read a book through most of the mid-day. However, I had to leave by 1:45 pm in order to get to my parents' house in time for their Sunday late-lunch/early-dinner. Mom was baking turkey breast. Yes!! A home-cooked meal that I don't have to provide. I arrived early. ;) I entered the house and prepared myself for the attack...here they come in a frenzy of wiggly barking, all three dogs greeting my after my long absence. Sadie was the wiggliest though. She's so cute! She was so happy to see that she couldn't stop wiggling and trying to lick every inch of revealed skin. It probably took 10 minutes for her calm down enough to just lay on my lap and let me pet her. She didn't venture too far for the rest of the evening. She was at my feet throughout the meal, and on my lap for my two subsequent naps in Dad's recliner! (Becky was right. I was exhausted and slept a lot! So much for my Sunday "to-do" list.) We finally headed home and did some more sleeping on the loveseat before crawling into bed.
It's funny how quickly you get attached to animals...and vice versa. I don't think I could ever leave her behind. She's my sweetie! She'll just have to go to Phoenix with me. We'll work out the kennel/breeding program details later.

Welcome back to Iowa! Can't wait to hear (or read) about more of your trip. Sunday didn't live up to all that I promised on your blog but yesterday did. Hopefully you had a good Valentine's Day or at least had an excellent early one while in Arizona. ;)
