In the News: Man finds meth lab in his garage
I find this a little hard to believe, but according to The Des Moines Register a man in Des Moines woke up one morning to discover a building at the back of his property was on fire. Upon further investigation, police and fire officials discovered that the building was being used as a meth lab. The property owner was "dumbfounded". Quote: "I know what the police are probably thinking, but it wasn't me. I plead moronity." He stated that he hadn't been to the back of his property in several months and was completely unaware of it. The police department is surprisingly being understanding and have stated that "So far we have nothing to indicate he was aware of it. People find places of opportunity, and they take advantage of them. We've seen that before."
On the one hand, it's nice to see that this guy truly is being considered innocent until proven guilty. On the other hand, how can you be that unaware of what occurs on your property?
