Let the demolition begin!
I got a wild hair tonight. I scooted some kitchen furniture away from the wall, picked up my crowbar and went to work removing the trim and ceiling tiles nearest the wall I'm going to paint first. Then, having another wild hair, I opened the can of paint and went ahead and did the edges. I considered pulling the roller tool out, but I still have my study to finish painting and the paint rollers for those colors are still on the tools. I only have a partial wall to finish. I should just suck it up and get it done. But, I just haven't been in the mood to sand on the paneling and I don't know how I'm going to paint around the thermostat quite yet. There's yet another problem in that there are two other, old thermostat's still on the wall. I haven't the faintest idea if they have electrical current to them, so I'm not removing them without proper supervision! Hrmm. Decisions decisions...
Other news in Gidget's World...the U.O. is returning to work on Monday. She's apparently decided to end her maternity leave. I, for one, am not looking forward to it. I just know her diarrhea of the mouth will overshare the details of the recent birth of her daughter. Please...spare me! I'm actually praying for meetings so I can avoid her presence. What I found to be completely hilarious is that her supervisor has finally taken off his rose-colored glasses and seen the light! He said that the past six weeks has been very productive without the U.O. here and that there will definitely be a change in behavior upon her return. You could have knocked me over from the shock, but it's about time! Also, in discussions with my supervisor (the office coordinator), the U.O. has said her time at home has really shown her how stressed she feels at work. I had to snicker at that, because the stress is only beginning. Wait til she returns and is given ultimatums! One of my cohorts at work and I admit that we could be nicer and more understanding of the U.O.'s situation (we're still getting her personal credit card calls and statements at work). I was sympathetic for quite awhile, but after a period of time where a person acts the victim 24/7, acts nice to people's faces and then stabs them in the back when they're not around, preaches far and wide yet doesn't practice what she preaches, manages to manipulate people so she doesn't have to follow office/HR rules, and acts like she's everyone's superior...well, my rose-colored glasses were cast off long ago and my sympathy is tapped out. There are no refills with this chickie. Her emotional bank account with me has gone bankrupt!
