Not for the humor-impaired...
I went antique shopping with a friend on Saturday and managed to find some goodies to add to my collection. We also visited two cultural centers in Cedar Rapids while out scouting for shops - the African American museum and the Czech Village. The museum was very interesting but also kinda creepy. The permanent exhibit had a replica of the travel an African would take when boarding a slave ship. It showed the doorway of the castle, the beach and then a reproduction of the holding area of a ship. I was horrified. You read about the suffering Africans went through on these ships but until you see them in 3-D real life, you really don't have a clue. The museum had vertical areas built that were the exact dimensions captains alloted for each slave. For example, for adult men, each man was alloted a 12" x 12" x 6' area. Each woman was given 12" x 12" x 5'10" and so forth. You could step into the box to physically realize how crowded these people must have been. The museum also had wheels you could spin with numbers identifying your chances of survival and, later, escape from plantations. I died on both of my spins.
The Czech Village was very neat. I wasn't too impressed with their antique shops but the glass imported from Czechoslovakia was stunning, but very expensive!
On to the humor part. We decided to stop by a small fast food place to get a drink before heading out of town. It was called the Flying Weiner (a hot dog place, obviously). While they were making my oh-so-yummy strawberry shake, I utilized their restroom facilities. However, upon entry into the restroom I saw a framed handwritten sign on the wall and could not stop giggling. Before I write what it said, let me apologize for those who will be a little grossed out. Men may not know exactly what this is like but the ladies will understand perfectly. The sign said "The Flying Weiner cleans their covers so you can sit instead of hover." Enough said....lol

I have three daughters who hate the bathrooms when we camp, so all I can say is.... priceless.
