The baby memo...

Anyone who has spoken to me recently will have discovered that I have three friends who all became "expectant mothers" at about the same time. One is due in mid-June (Ed Abbey's wife), one on July 10 and one on July 18. I was giving them a hard time about receiving a baby memo and not letting me know about it. LOL Not that I would join them - I think a husband should probably come first! ;)

However, that only leaves me six months to make baby quilts. My fabulous friend Becky told me that I have plenty of time. She's not due until July 18. However, I know that in order to have three quilts done, I need to start NOW. So, I spent several weeks searching the sewing stores for what I wanted to make...and finally, after a long and frustrating search, found it! I won't divulge any descriptions but lets just say there's a lot of labor and love involved in these projects and I look forward to every minute!

Talk about a glutton for punishment. Three quilts in six months! My mom is also making a quilt but has already notified Mrs. Abbey that she might not get it done before birth. Based off previous experience, I told her a quilt would also make a great graduation quilt and intentionally didn't specify high school or college.

I helped Mrs. Abbey make a quilt for my niece (on her side) and spent many frustrating hours trying to get the infernal machine to go six inches without ending up with a huge knot of thread. I was about ready to get out the stapler and hot melt glue gun!

Good luck!

Oh, I forgot the ask... who is the third baby? For some reason, another Becky (maiden name G) comes to mind but I'm not sure where I heard about that if that is who it is.

Mrs. Abbey, Becky-from-Phoenix, and a new friend, met via Becky & her husband, Tammy.

I think my MO in life is "glutton for punishment"...
