The Homer Award...
Today I am nominating myself for the Homer Award...in true DOH! style.
It's been awhile since I've blogged about Runescape. Truthfully I haven't been playing it too often so there's not much TO blog about on that topic. However, tonight I decided to play a bit and opened my game client only to see that a new and improved player's manual had been written. I have some farming seeds that aren't on any lists (for level of growing and experience points) I can find and thought to look for that information first. What I found caused me to sit back in my seat and go "doh!" For awhile now I've been working on my farming skill not only to be able to grow herbs for potions, but also so I can finally get to that elusive point where I can grow my own pineapple trees, thus eliminating the need to make constant runs back & forth to Karamja Island to pick them. Given that there are only a few pineapple tree locations and sometimes other players have gotten the goods, it sometimes takes awhile to accumulate the number of pineapples needed to make supercompost...the additive of the gods for RS farmers. It improves your crop growing and decreases the likelihood of your crops becoming diseased. Now, for a long time I thought ONLY pineapples could be used to make supercompost, but then I discovered that watermelons, too, can be used. Yes! I can grow watermelons by bushels so that was fantastic news! Although I inquired about other "supercompost ingredients", no one knew of any other plant that could be used....until now. During my journey to pineapple-level (still not quite achieved), I've been growing berry bushes. Because the berries on these bushes really aren't worth much, I've been dropping what I grow so as to keep my bank account somewhat under control. It is only now that I fully realize what lack of information can do to an unsuspecting player. I could have used those berries for supercompost. Argh! If I could flop down dramatically onto the couch and press the back of my hand to my brow in sufferance, I would. All that wasted produce. I could have stockpiled supercompost and been set for many growing seasons! At least I have the complete list now and the tree roots I had been storing can be used for something good.
If you'll excuse me, it's time for me to slumpf back to the RS manual and see what else I can "doh!" about...
Incidentally, I also discovered that you can use compost bins to "rot" tomatoes and then use them as projectiles against other players in the dueling arena. *snicker* Although I've never dueled before, I can't help but be amused by this. :)
