The "I've got to get these things done" weekend...
I decided yesterday that this would be the weekend to get to all those things that I've told myself needs doing but procrastinated over. Of course, I've tried making every weekend like that but this time I made myself actually start because I knew that if I started, I'd actually finish.
So, yesterday I managed to pull together all of my tax information and enter everything into Turbo Tax. A data entry mistake nearly caused me a heart attack since it was showing that I owed the state $1400 but I realized that I had neglected to put in two very critical numbers from my W2, specifically the number showing the amount of state tax withheld from my checks. Luckily the red number quickly turned to green, showing a refund of $76. I wasn't going to complain! However there's a number that keeps getting pulled from my last year's tax return and I can't figure out why a number listed for $20 last year is showing on this year's form as $553 in income. Now I'm wondering if I did last year's wrong. I chose not to e-file quite yet. I think I'll just have to bite the bullet this year and actually go to an accountant to have my previous years' returns looked over and the current year's done by a professional.
This morning I finally colored my hair again. The roots were showing pretty badly and I'd been intending to color it for over a month now.
Following that, I finally got around to scrubbing the wood floor in the living room with a special cleaner that I had purchased at least three months ago, possibly longer. It has an almond smell and I didn't realize how much the wood would hold the scent so now the dogs and I are enveloped with an eau de almond. Hopefully it'll fade a bit overnight.
At this point it was time to take the girls outside for a potty break and I grabbed the snow shovel to start the scooping and scraping that I mentioned in a previous post. I had to have been out there for 45 minutes just clearing away the snow.
Upon return to the house, I was super sweaty and had to shower before continuing with my list. Since my back was already aching from the snow shoveling I figured it was as good a time as any to haul the Christmas tree and tubs of decorations, lights, etc down the stairs to the basement. It wasn't going to make my back ache any more than it was. lol
That's about it for now. Laundry has been started and I did some dishes. I may decide to do nothing more today than more cross stitching or I may decide to do other things. Even if nothing else gets accomplished, I've already done more than I thought I would. ;) I'll consider the weekend a success.

I'd place money on it that the $20 showing up was your refund from last year. In Iowa, you have to pay taxes on the previous year's refund. How is that for insane?
Oh no, it wasn't the refund. My refund was already listed and was considerably higher than $20. :)
