Walmart declares winter over...
Okay, not really but they might as well have. I used the last of my Ice-Melt mix last weekend in an attempt to thin the glacier sheet in front of my house. Knowing I would probably need more, I made a trip to Walmart and found, to my disbelief, that the only winter items remaining were a few shovels. The seasonal area where winter items should have been displayed was filled, instead, with gardening supplies and patio furniture sets. I do not joke. The first snowfall of winter....January...which usually launches the winter snows...and Walmart has late spring products displayed.
However, I quickly learned they were not the only ones. At least Menards still had a pallet of salt bags for winter use, although I didn't get any due to the 50-lb weight of the bags. I was not about to injure my lower back attempting to heave that much salt from ground level (there were only 3 layers left on the pallet) to above my waist in order to get it into the cart and then again to get it into my truck. I've decided that the pedestrians traversing my section of sidewalk will just have to skate across any slippery spots. Of course, you can probably guess what I spied next to the pallets of salt. Gardening supplies. *sigh*

The world went crazy a long time ago. I've seen swimsuits already.
